Why work for J.E.M.?

J.E.M. offers the following benefits to all team members after waiting periods have been completed

Insurance

After completing 60 days of employment J.E.M. offers its employees the option of enrolling in full medical coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi. J.E.M. pays the majority of this coverage leaving the employee with only $19.60 (currently) per week to pay. Family coverage is also available at full cost to the employee. We also offer supplemental coverage at low rates for dental, vision, accident, life, cancer, disability, and critical illness. The supplemental plans are at full cost to the employee.

Vacation

Vacation is a time for you to rest, relax, and pursue special interests.  J.E.M. has provided paid vacation as one of the many ways in which we show our appreciation for your work, knowledge, skills, and talents; all of which contribute to make J.E.M. a leader in its field.  Only regular full-time employees are eligible for vacation.  Part-time employees are not eligible.

Amount of Vacation

Eligible employees vacation is based on the number of years served.  The vacation accrual rate is based on length of employment, as follows:

After or 6 months through fourth year                         5 days (8 hour days)

Fifth year and beyond                                                                10 days (8 hour days)

401k

After completing one year of employment you will become eligible to participate in our 401k plan during the next open enrollment if you choose to do so. Open enrollments occur twice a year, in December and in June. You may select from either a set dollar amount or a percentage of your income for your weekly contribution and J.E.M. will match you dollar for dollar up to 4%.

Continuing Education

We encourage our employees to strive to better themselves through continuing education and hands on learning. To help facilitate this J.E.M. has a partnership with the Mississippi Construction Education Foundation to provide apprenticeship classes to our employees at no cost to them besides their time. These programs are available to employees who come in as helpers or laborers and want to pursue a field in either plumbing or sheet metal. Both classes are one night a week per semester and consist of four semester’s total.
